Time is flying!

Hello Everyone! We have created a blog to keep you updated on our wild lives in the Caribbean! We are just about to pass the one year mark of our adventure here on the island, and what a year it has been. No one could have prepared us adaquetly for what island life would be like. The phrase "Island time" is something I am all to familiar with. God has really been working on my patience, because if you are in a hurry then St Maarten is not the place for you. On average you spend 3 hrs at a restaurant, going to the grocery store is an all day excursion, not to mention the 52 stairs to get to our apartment! But we have been blessed in so many ways. God has given us this time (Jack and I) to slow down and really learn how to love him! Damen is doing awesome in Medical School here, he is finding his nitch and really excelling. He is incredibly busy, with not much spare time. We are soo proud of him! Jack is now 15 months and running everywhere, keeping up with him is a full time job. He is a miracle from Jesus, and i thank Him everyday for entrusting me with such an incredible gift. As for me, well, I am the glue that tries to keep everything together! I feel like there is a never-ending sink full of dishes (because there is no such thing as a dishwasher here), laundry that overflows (the laundry room is the most frightening thing), and no matter how many times I pick up the toys they always end up scattered everywhere in 15 minutes. But I couldn't be more happy, what a joy it is to be a wife and a mother! We are looking forward to being able to keep in touch with you all, and here about your lives!
